ROMs for PGV
Batch - non interactive command line application
Summary
Run reduced-order models for Southern California peak ground velocity maps.
Description
This app will run a reduced-order model and produce a peak ground velocity (PGV) map for earthquake point sources located in Southern California. Enter the depth, strike, dip, and rake and the app will produce a PGV map (figure.png). The PGV data can be downloaded from the numpy binary file rom_results.npy. The app uses the interpolated proper orthogonal decomposition method described in:
Rekoske, J. M., Gabriel, A. A., & May, D. A. (2023). Instantaneous physics‐based ground motion maps using reduced‐order modeling. Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 128(8), e2023JB026975.
The velocity model is "3D-500A" as described in the paper which uses the SCEC CVM-H with anelastic attenuation and topography.
